        "content": "<p>RI students in Pakistan grilled<\/p>\n<p>Fabiola Desy Unidjaja, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>A joint team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National<br>\nPolice and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) are conducting<br>\na preliminary interrogation of six Indonesian students detained<br>\nin Pakistan for alleged terrorist activities, a minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda said on Tuesday<br>\nthat the questioning was expected to conclude this weekend,<br>\nbefore the students were deported by Pakistan authorities.<\/p>\n<p>\"The team has interrogated the students since Monday and they<br>\nwill do it again today (Tuesday) over their alleged involvement<br>\nin terrorist activities,\" Hassan said.<\/p>\n<p>The six Indonesian students currently detained in Pakistan are<br>\nMohamad Syaifudin, Ilham Sofyandi, David Pintarto, Furqon<br>\nAbdullah, Muhammad Anwar As-Shadaqqi and Rusman Gunawan, alias<br>\nGun Gun.<\/p>\n<p>They were arrested by authorities in early September in<br>\nKarachi for alleged involvement in terrorist activities.<\/p>\n<p>Gun Gun, the younger brother of suspected terrorist Riduan<br>\nIsamuddin, alias Hambali, has admitted to sending US$50,000 and<br>\ntelecommunications equipment to his brother. Hambali is believed<br>\nto be the leader of Southeast Asian regional terrorist network<br>\nJamaah Islamiyah (JI).<\/p>\n<p>JI has been blamed for a string of terrorist attacks across<br>\nthe country, including the Bali bombings on Oct. 12, 2002 and the<br>\nJW Marriott Hotel attack on Aug. 5, 2003.<\/p>\n<p>Hambali has been in U.S. custody at an undisclosed location<br>\nsince October.<\/p>\n<p>Hassan said the six students would be deported and would take<br>\na regular commercial flight from Islamabad to Jakarta, escorted<br>\nby the joint team.<\/p>\n<p>Police said earlier that the six would be deported before<br>\nPresident Megawati Soekarnoputri arrived in Pakistan on Dec. 13<br>\nfor a four-day state visit, and they would be detained upon their<br>\narrival in Indonesia for further questioning.<\/p>\n<p>Police said the students did not appear to have any criminal<br>\nrecords.<\/p>\n<p>Hassan underlined that the issue would be resolved before the<br>\nPresident's state visit to Pakistan next week.<\/p>\n<p>Megawati is to travel to Pakistan following the Association of<br>\nSoutheast Asian Nations-Japan commemorative summit in Tokyo.<\/p>",
