RI sends more aid to Pakistan<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Indonesian government has sent a second batch of
\nhumanitarian assistance to quake-hit Pakistan, the Indonesian
\nEmbassy in Pakistan has said.<\/p>\n
The embassy was quoted as saying by Antara that Indonesia
\ndispatched 13 tons of supplies worth Rp 750 million (US$75,000),
\ncomprising tents of various size, blankets, jackets and sleeping
\nbags for the survivors to protect them from the harsh winter
\nweather.<\/p>\n
Indonesia had also helped the Pakistani government transport
\nthe supplies to the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. Indonesian
\nAmbassador to Pakistan Anwar Santoso handed the supplies over to
\nPakistani foreign ministry official Muhammad Anwar Cholan at
\nChaklala military air base in Islamabad, Antara said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian community in Islamabad has also donated a total
\nof $25,000 to the relief effort.<\/p>\n
The first batch of humanitarian assistance, consisting of 12
\ntons of food, medicines and blankets, were sent on Oct. 13. The
\nearthquake on Oct. 8 left more than 80,000 people dead and tens
