RI protests 'Rambo-style' raids<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Indonesia has protested against Australia's \"Rambo-
\nstyle\" raids on Indonesian expatriates in its campaign against
\nterrorism in the aftermath of the Bali bomb attack, Foreign
\nMinister Hassan Wirayuda said Thursday.<\/p>\n
Hassan said Australia had every right to carry out security
\nactions but the Indonesian government found such action
\n\"excessive.\"<\/p>\n
The raids were carried out \"in Rambo style,\" Hassan told
\nreporters after a cabinet meeting.<\/p>\n
Heavily-armed agents raided homes of Indonesians in
\nAustralia last week in a nationwide hunt for suspected members of
\nterrorist groups following the October 12 bombing on Indonesia's
\nresort island of Bali, which killed more than 190 people.<\/p>\n
President Megawati Soekarnoputri this week urged Australia
\n\"not to go overboard\" with the anti-terrorism campaign.<\/p>\n
Hassan said he had conveyed Jakarta's concerns about the raids
\nto his Australian counterpart Alexander Downer.<\/p>\n
Jakarta has warned that the way Australia treats Indonesians
\nsuspected of links to terrorism could threaten cooperation in the
