        "content": "<p>RI promotion center in LA<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Tony Agus Ardie (left), chairman of the U.S.<br>\nCommittee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and<br>\nForeign Minister Alwi Shihab (right) met on Tuesday to discuss<br>\nfinal preparations for the establishment of a trade promotion<br>\ncenter for Indonesian products in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n<p>Tony told reporters after the meeting that the center will<br>\nfocus on the promotion of products from small and medium<br>\nenterprises.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Los Angeles is a strategic gateway for<br>\nIndonesian products to enter the huge American market, which<br>\nbought US$9.33 billion worth of various commodities from<br>\nIndonesia last year.<\/p>\n<p>Tony said although the promotion center was coordinated by his<br>\ncommittee, the facility would be managed by PT Pusat Promosi<br>\nIndonesia in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Pusat Promosi Indonesia, which is owned jointly by Indonesian<br>\nand American businesspeople interested in enhancing economic ties<br>\nbetween the two countries, will help small and medium-scale<br>\nenterprises in the country to enter the U.S. market through the<br>\nLos Angeles promotion center, Tony added.<\/p>",
