He will
deliver a state speech,” said the President of the All-Indonesian
Confederation of Workers’ Unions (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, after the
Labour Halalbihalal with National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit
Prabowo in Tangerang on Tuesday. He revealed that after the series of
events at Monas in Jakarta, the President, along with 115 leaders of
confederations and federations across Indonesia, will head to Nganjuk
for the inauguration of the Ibu Marsinah Museum as a monument to the
workers’ struggle. “We, together with the President, the National Police
Chief, and all labour leaders—around 115 confederations and federations
across Indonesia—will attend the inauguration of the Ibu Marsinah Museum
in Nganjuk,” he said. According to him, this year’s May Day event is a
commemoration within the series of struggles to safeguard various
regulations related to workers’ welfare and the revival of industry in
Indonesia across various sectors. Therefore, he said, on that momentum,
his side together with the government will discuss further regarding
welfare and policies that support workers in Indonesia. “Yesterday, I
met with several state officials to discuss several matters after the
President’s return from Russia. He will directly announce regarding the
improvement of workers’ welfare and his policies, which will be
announced after returning from his overseas visit,” he explained. On
that occasion, KSPSI also expressed appreciation to the Indonesian
National Police for helping to resolve three major layoff (PHK) cases in
the country. Those cases are the police successfully assisted the PHK at
PT Tarumartani Yogyakarta, which went viral some time ago. Then, the
mass layoffs at PT Daicheng in Bekasi, and both were resolved. “And also
PT Multi Strada Bekasi, which was also resolved because the National
Police Chief, together with the Labour Desk, provided extraordinary
attention and support, until the labour issues could be resolved,” he
said.
",
