RI officials meet with CGI in Tokyo<\/p>\n
TOKYO (Reuter): Senior officials from Indonesia are in Japan
\nto attend a two-day meeting in Tokyo hosted by the World Bank to
\nset an amount for loans to that country, an Indonesian embassy
\nspokeswoman said yesterday.<\/p>\n
The Consultative Group on Indonesia (CGI), a grouping of donor
\nnations and financial institutions led by the World Bank, is due
\nto meet in Tokyo on July 16 and 17.<\/p>\n
There will be 19 officials from Indonesia at the meeting,
\nincluding central bank Governor Soedradjad Djiwandono, Finance
\nMinister Saleh Afiff and National Development Planning Minister
\nGinandjar Kartasasmita, the spokeswoman said.<\/p>\n
Widjojo Nitisastro, an adviser on economic matters to
\nIndonesia's President Soeharto, is also to attend the meeting,
\nshe said.<\/p>\n
An official in Tokyo of the central bank, Bank Indonesia, said
\nofficials from the central bank were at the Bank of Japan (BOJ)
\non Monday. The BOJ was not immediately able to confirm this.<\/p>\n
A spokesman for Japan's Ministry of Finance (MOF) said Afiff
\npaid a courtesy call on Finance Minister Hiroshi Mitsuzuka last
\nweek and there were no plans this week for any meetings with
\nIndonesian officials.<\/p>",
