RI mosque to be built in Bosnia<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Construction of the Mohammad Soeharto Mosque in war-
\ntorn western Sarajevo, Bosnia, is to start soon. It will serve as
\na token of friendship between Indonesia and Bosnia.<\/p>\n
Antara quoted Minister of Information Harmoko as telling the
\nteam, appointed to build the mosque, here yesterday that the
\nmosque should also serve as a center of information about
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
The mosque, named after President Soeharto, will be built with
\nfunds donated by Indonesian Moslems. The construction team is
\nbeing led by prominent businessman Probosutedjo, who is a half-
\nbrother of Soeharto. The team includes Lukman Harun of the
\nMuhammadiyah Moslem organization and architects Ahmad Nu'man and
\nFauzan Nu'man.<\/p>\n
Despite the meeting with Harmoko yesterday, Harun told
\nreporters that no date had been set for the start of
\nconstruction.<\/p>\n
The mosque is expected to accommodate up to 1,000 people. The
\nBosnian government has allotted a 15-hectare site for the mosque
