        "content": "<p>RI IT ace gets green card<\/p>\n<p>NUREMBERG, Germany (AFP): Indonesian computer specialist<br>\nHarianto Wijaya became the first person Monday to receive a<br>\nspecial permit allowing non-European Union nationals to work in<br>\nGermany because of their sought-after information technology (IT)<br>\nskills.<\/p>\n<p>He received the authorization from Employment Minister Walter<br>\nRiester in a ceremony in Nuremberg also attended by the head of<br>\nthe federal labor office, Bernhard Jagoda.<\/p>\n<p>The \"green cards\" -- so-called after the term for the document<br>\nallowing foreigners to live and work in the United States -- are<br>\nan initiative by Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder aimed at overcoming<br>\na shortage of highly-qualified computer technologists in Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Harianto Wijaya, 25, has won a job with the Aachen-based firm<br>\nAixCom to develop wireless office communications technology.<\/p>\n<p>The government plans to accord up to 20,000 permits for<br>\nforeign IT workers.<\/p>",
