        "content": "<p>Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said on Thursday the\ninitiative includes expanding medical facilities and improving emergency\nresponse systems at the country\u2019s busiest transport hubs during the\nannual homecoming, or mudik, and return travel period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo ensure smooth services, we hope for support from the Health\nMinistry in increasing health facilities, especially at the busiest\npublic transportation hubs,\u201d Purwagandhi said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>He said he held a coordination meeting with Health Minister Budi\nGunadi Sadikin on Wednesday to discuss preparations for the 2026 Eid\ntransport program.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation aims to strengthen health infrastructure at\ntransportation centers while improving public health monitoring during\ntravel, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Key measures include health checks for drivers, such as blood\npressure screening and urine tests to ensure they are free from\nhazardous substances that could endanger passengers.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities will also set up medical posts at terminals, railway\nstations, seaports, airports and rest areas along toll and arterial\nroads.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese posts will function as rest areas and emergency health check\ncenters for travelers and drivers who experience health problems during\ntheir journey,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Purwagandhi also supported deploying emergency response teams and\nmotorcycle ambulances to enable faster assistance in traffic accidents\nor medical emergencies, particularly in areas where four-wheeled\nvehicles face limited access.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the government plans to ensure the availability of\nhygienic lactation rooms at strategic locations that currently lack\npermanent facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The move aims to support mothers and infants during long journeys and\nhelp prevent excessive fatigue among traveling families.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the 2026 Eid Transportation Movement Potential Survey, the\nbusiest departure hubs during the holiday period are expected to include\nPasar Senen Station, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Pulo Gebang\nTerminal, Tanjung Priok Port and Merak Ferry Port.<\/p>\n<p>Major destination hubs are projected to include Yogyakarta Tugu\nStation, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tirtonadi Terminal,\nTanjung Perak Port and Bakauheni Ferry Port.<\/p>\n<p>The Transportation Ministry said it would continue coordinating with\nother government institutions, including the Health Ministry, to\nanticipate potential challenges during the peak travel season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will ensure Eid transportation runs smoothly and provides\noptimal protection for the public,\u201d Purwagandhi said.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia deploys 841 ships for 2026 Eid sea travel<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Indonesia plans railway flood task force ahead of Eid\ntravel rush<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Muhammad Harianto, Katriana<\/p>",
