        "content": "<p>The Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation\nand Reconstruction (PRR) in Sumatra said on Friday that the total number\nof evacuees stood at 12,994 at the start of Ramadan.<\/p>\n<p>Of that number, 12,144 people were in Aceh and 850 in North Sumatra,\nwhile West Sumatra recorded no evacuees living in tents.<\/p>\n<p>As response measures intensified, the number continued to decline.\nThe latest data on Thursday morning, March 5, showed 6,873 evacuees\nremaining, with 6,187 in Aceh and 686 in North Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>In less than two weeks, the total number of displaced people dropped\nby 6,121, or about 47.1 percent, compared with the start of Ramadan.<\/p>\n<p>The decline coincides with the accelerated construction of temporary\nshelters across the three affected provinces.<\/p>\n<p>According to the National Disaster Mitigation Agency and the Ministry\nof Public Works and Housing, 12,279 units of temporary shelters had been\ncompleted as of March 4 out of a planned 18,309 units, representing\nabout 67 percent of the target.<\/p>\n<p>Construction of permanent housing is also under way. All 10,783 recipients across the three provinces\nhave received the funds through transfers to their bank accounts.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Social Affairs has also processed living assistance\nfor 175,211 people, equivalent to 47,686 households in 37 districts and\ncities across the affected provinces. The total budget allocated for the\nprogram reached 236.53 billion rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, PRR task force chairman Tito Karnavian said accelerating the\nrelocation of evacuees remains a key priority during the rehabilitation\nand reconstruction phase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope this process can be completed as soon as possible before Eid\nal-Fitr.
