        "content": "<p>Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the efforts involve\nclose on-site coordination between the Bali Land Transportation\nManagement Agency (BPTD) and multiple stakeholders, including the\npolice, ferry operators, port authorities, security forces and local\nadministrations.<\/p>\n<p>Long queues of vehicles have formed on roads leading to Gilimanuk\nPort since Sunday (March 15), reportedly stretching for tens of\nkilometers as travelers leave Bali for their hometowns ahead of the\nIslamic holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are continuing our efforts to ensure that all transportation\nservices run safely, smoothly and under control,\u201d Purwagandhi said on\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle queues heading to Gilimanuk Port remained heavy on Monday,\ndominated by motorcycles and private cars attempting to cross the Bali\nStrait to Java.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said a range of traffic management measures were being\nimplemented to ease the buildup.<\/p>\n<p>To accelerate vehicle movement and improve ferry traffic, the number\nof vessels in operation has been increased to 35, comprising the\nexisting 28 ferries and seven additional vessels, each scheduled to make\nup to eight trips.<\/p>\n<p>Of the total fleet, 19 vessels operate at the moveable bridge (MB)\npier, while 11 serve the landing craft machine (LCM) pier, with four\nadditional ships deployed to further increase crossing capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry has also implemented the Arrival\u2013Unloading\u2013Departure\n(TBB) system to shorten vessel turnaround times, alongside faster\nloading and unloading procedures aimed at speeding up the movement of\nsmaller vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVehicle traffic management has also been strengthened through the\noperation of a buffer zone at the Gilimanuk Port cargo terminal and the\noptimization of the Cekik Port Control Unit (UPPKB Cekik) as a\ncheckpoint before vehicles enter the port area,\u201d Purwagandhi added.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, weather monitoring by the Meteorology, Climatology and\nGeophysics Agency (BMKG) at 11:55 a.m. showed conditions in the Bali\nStrait remained favorable for ferry operations.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities reported cloudy skies with waves of about 1 meter,\nvisibility of up to 10 kilometers, and northbound sea currents moving at\naround 2.5 knots.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Bali police manage heavy queues toward Gilimanuk Port\nahead of Eid<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Ketapang crossing normal despite Gumitir route closure:\nMinistry<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Muhammad Harianto, Resinta Sulistiyandari<\/p>",
