        "content": "<p>\u201cThe quality of coffee beans in the Highlands of Papua is generally\nexcellent; it simply requires a specialized touch and an effective\nmarketing system to reach its full potential,\u201d Juliantono said in a\nwritten statement issued in Wamena on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to Juliantono, various superior products from the Highlands\nof Papua, particularly from Jayawijaya District, such as coffee, food,\nbeverages, apparel, and handicrafts, should be managed through\ncooperatives to generate added value and expand market reach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCooperatives serve as an economic instrument for the people of\nIndonesia, including those in Jayawijaya, in the Highlands of Papua.\nThrough cooperatives, local potential can be harnessed optimally,\nespecially to improve the marketing of products like coffee,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>Juliantono explained that local governments should facilitate the\nformation of cooperatives based on the specific types of businesses\noperated by the community.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Ministry urges regions to curate MSMEs for cooperative\nformation<\/p>\n<p>This would allow the Ministry of Cooperatives to provide assistance\ntailored to the needs of each business sector.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that local entrepreneurs will establish cooperatives aligned\nwith their respective fields, enabling the Ministry of Cooperatives to\nprovide assistance, ranging from product quality curation and training\nto financing facilitation,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>He said that, based on information he received, a coffee cooperative\nin Wamena, Jayawijaya District, has shown positive progress and could\nbecome a platform for developing the region\u2019s flagship commodity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope coffee cooperatives in Papua can optimally manage the\npotential of Wamena coffee, both in terms of quality enhancement and\nmarketing, so that these products can successfully penetrate both\ndomestic and international markets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond coffee, Juliantono has encouraged the Jayawijaya District\nGovernment to facilitate the establishment of cooperatives in products\nsuch as batik, apparel, leather goods, and fashion.<\/p>\n<p>The ministry also has access to financial institutions that can be\nleveraged to support the development of local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will ensure that cooperatives in the Highlands of Papua,\nespecially in Jayawijaya, receive assistance to help them grow and\ndevelop, thereby enabling them to boost the community\u2019s economic\nactivities sustainably,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Six Red and White Cooperative outlets completed in\nCentral Papua<\/p>\n<p>Translator: Yudhi Effendi, Cindy Frishanti Octavia<\/p>",
