RI, Dutch energy cooperation<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia and the Netherlands have agreed to
\nbolster bilateral relations in the energy sector.<\/p>\n
Indonesian Ministry of Mines and Energy's spokesman Budhi
\nSulistyo said in a statement on Friday the countries made the
\nagreement during the Dutch-Indonesia fourth energy meeting from
\nFeb. 23 to Feb. 25 in Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n
He said the Dutch government would invite 10 Indonesians to
\nthe Netherlands for training on the use of coal as part of the
\ncooperation.<\/p>\n
It will also provide technical assistance to Indonesia to
\nformulate a regulatory framework for the power sector.<\/p>\n
Several officials of the ministry's Directorate General of
\nElectricity and Energy Development will go to the Netherlands for
\ntraining on energy planning and a comparative study on energy
\nconservation.<\/p>\n
The countries will also continue cooperation in developing
\nsolar photovoltaic and biomass in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The Dutch government will also help in translating
\ngeoscientific books from Dutch to Indonesian.<\/p>\n
The fifth energy meeting of both countries will be held in the
\nNetherlands in 2000. (jsk)<\/p>",
