RI doubles win at Copenhagen Masters<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia shone in the men's doubles at the
\nCopenhagen Masters badminton invitational on Monday, while men's
\nsingles Irwansyah lost twice in round-robin play.<\/p>\n
Indonesia's new partnership of Ricky Subagja and Denny Kantono
\nworked hard in overcoming the Danish duo of Michael Sogaard and
\nJim Laugesen 15-12, 5-15, 15-13. While juniors Santoso Sugiharjo
\nand Ade Lukas crushed Martin Lundgaard Hansen and Lars Paaske of
\nDenmark 15-8, 15-4.<\/p>\n
Team manager Hadi Nazri said in a statement Santoso and Ade
\nchanged their style of play by driving more, which caused their
\nopponents to commit unforced errors. In the second game, he said
\nthe Indonesian duo played faster and the Danish shuttlers were
\ntense and failed to perform up to their usual standards.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Irwansyah was defeated by the towering Swede Thomas
\nJohansson 13-15, 11-15, and then lost to home favorite and world
\nnumber one Peter Gade Christensen 7-15, 14-17.<\/p>\n
Indonesia's Cindana Hartono Kusuma is scheduled to compete in
