RI, China sign population accord<\/p>\n
BANGKOK: Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)
\nwith the government of China here on Monday to cooperate in the
\nfield of population and reproductive health\/family planning.<\/p>\n
The MoU was signed by the chairwoman of Indonesia's National
\nFamily Planning Board, Yaumil Agoes Achir, and China's minister
\nof the State Family Planning Commission (SFPC), Zhang Weiqing.<\/p>\n
The signing of the MoU was witnessed by Indonesia's
\nCoordinating Minister for People's Welfare Jusuf Kalla, the
\nIndonesian Ambassador to Thailand Sutria Tubagu, and China's vice
\nminister of the SFPC, Wang Guoqiang.<\/p>\n
Yaumil said the agreement included an exchange of high-level
\nvisits, an exchange of reproductive health\/family planning
\nexperts, scientific research and the implementation of
\nreproductive health\/family planning programs.<\/p>\n
The MoU will remain in force for four years, after which it
\nwill be automatically extended one year at a time. --JP<\/p>",
