        "content": "<p>RI buys Australian wheat<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuters): Indonesia has bought 30,000 to 50,000<br>\ntons of Australian wheat for prompt delivery at a tender, a<br>\nSingapore-based trader said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The price was not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia, whose commodities imports have been slashed by a<br>\nfinancial crisis, is one of Australia's biggest wheat markets.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Indonesia's state commodity regulator Bulog, Beddu<br>\nAmang, said on Tuesday Indonesia would hold international tenders<br>\nfor the import of essential commodities.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia would announce the amount of the commodities it<br>\nneeded in the future, replacing \"silent operations\" in importing<br>\nrice or soybeans in the past, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Under the \"silent operations\" policy, deals were done on a<br>\ngovernment-to-government basis or between the Indonesian<br>\ngovernment and private firms to avoid price volatility.<\/p>",
