        "content": "<p>RI-Australia leaders to meet in Bali<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>Business and political leaders will gather in Bali next week<br>\nfor a conference jointly hosted by the Indonesia Australia<br>\nBusiness Council (IABC) and its sister organization in Australia,<br>\naccording to the IABC.<\/p>\n<p>Topping the list of speakers at the conference, which has not<br>\nbeen held for four years, is Indonesia's Coordinating Minister<br>\nfor the Economy Dorodjatun Kuntjoro.<\/p>\n<p>\"The minister has perhaps been reluctant to address public<br>\ngatherings in the past, but confirmed his attendance saying the<br>\nevent was 'very important',\" the IABC said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The conference, titled Indonesia: The Horizon Beyond, aims to<br>\naddress the immediate issues and long-term goals faced by<br>\ndomestic and foreign businesspeople in the archipelago. The<br>\nconcept was inspired by prominent Indonesian businessman Julius<br>\nTahija.<\/p>\n<p>IABC president Noke Kiroyan said the resumption of the<br>\nconference demonstrated that investors remained interested in<br>\nbusiness opportunities in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"Hopefully, events such as this conference will facilitate<br>\ninvestment in Indonesia and show that the government is making<br>\nthe necessary reforms to attract capital,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia's Coordinating Minister for Political and Security<br>\nAffairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will also speak at the<br>\nconference along with the country's Minister for Industry and<br>\nTrade Rini M. Soewandi.<\/p>\n<p>The three-day conference at the Bali International Convention<br>\nCenter, starting on March 13, will also feature speakers from the<br>\nIABC's sister organization, the Australia Indonesia Business<br>\nCouncil.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Minister for Trade Mark Vaile has confirmed his<br>\nattendance.<\/p>\n<p>A session on regional autonomy will be addressed by Ryaas<br>\nRasyid from the Indonesian Society of Government Studies, Andi<br>\nMallarangeng from the Partnership for Governance Reform and Kevin<br>\nEvans from the UNDP.<\/p>\n<p>Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) chairman Theo Toemion<br>\nwill give an update on regulatory moves to protect and enhance<br>\nforeign investment.<\/p>\n<p>Former presidential spokesperson Wimar Witoelar, who is to<br>\ntake up a lecturing appointment in Australia, will deliver the<br>\nafter dinner speech on the second day.<\/p>",
