        "content": "<p>RI accused of dumping<\/p>\n<p>BRUSSELS (Reuter): The European Commission has begun dumping<br>\ninquiries into polyester yarn exports to the European Union from<br>\nThailand, Indonesia and India.<\/p>\n<p>Commission action, detailed in the EU's Official Journal,<br>\nfollows a complaint by the Comite International de la Rayonne et<br>\ndes Fibers Synthetiques (CIRFS) on behalf of certain European<br>\nUnion producers of polyester filament yarn.<\/p>\n<p>\"The complaint has stated and provided sufficient evidence<br>\nthat imports...have increased from 4,500 tons in 1991 to 13,000<br>\ntons in 1993,\" the Commission said Monday, adding that<br>\ncorresponding market share rose from 1.9 percent to six percent.<\/p>\n<p>CIRFS told the Commission that Community prices had fallen 20<br>\npercent since 1992 due to the pressure exerted by allegedly<br>\ndumped imports rather than lower raw material prices.<\/p>\n<p>Dumping margins -- the difference between domestic and export<br>\nprices -- ranged from nine percent for Indian yarn to 35 percent<br>\nfor Thai-produced yarn, CIRFS said.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission invited interested parties to comment, in<br>\nwriting, by the end of August.<\/p>",
