\nincredible people<\/p>\n

When the bombs exploded in Bali thunderously, I was imagining
\na gang of people laughing heartily or at least smiling proudly
\nbecause they had succeeded in sending thousands of people into a
\nstate of panic. The explosion too had made hundreds of people
\nbusy and dozens others nervous because they were afraid of losing
\ntheir post.<\/p>\n
Whoever the perpetrators may be, whatever their race, tribe,
\nethnicity or religion, these people are really incredible. Why?
\nBecause they have no conscience, pity nor fear, much less a
\nfeeling of shame.<\/p>\n
What makes them even more incredible is the fact that they are
\neven fiercer and more savage than the fiercest animal on earth.
\nHave you ever heard of a lion eating its own cub? Have you ever
\nseen a wolf prey on its own family? Only man is known to have
\ndone it all!<\/p>\n
After the bomb exploded and made headlines in all the papers,
\nI observed a group of people who were clever at making use of
\nthis opportunity for their own popularity. They made use of the
\ndisaster as a vehicle to forward their career. They made use of
\nthe calamity for amassing money to line their pockets.<\/p>\n
Whoever they may be or whatever profession or educational
\nbackground they are from, these people are really amazing. Why?
\nBecause they are really good at making use of every opportunity:
\nBy sending wreaths to the Australian Embassy and talking in front
\nof TV cameras, demanding that certain groups be responsible for
\nthe blast.<\/p>\n
What would they do if they were made responsible for tracking
\ndown the perpetrators? Would they do the same thing if the
\nvictims of the blast were their relatives?<\/p>\n
When I saw the billowing smoke which made many concerned, I
\ntoo saw many people (who were normally busy with their own
\nbusiness) express concern.<\/p>\n
Whoever they are and from whatever department they represent,
\nthese people too are incredible. They took turns at giving
\ncomments and analysis although I think most of what they said is
\ngroundless. This all eventually forced the Minister of Political
\nand Security Affairs to ask those people to refrain from making
\nmisleading statements.<\/p>\n
However, all of this seems unstoppable because that is all
\nthat they can do.<\/p>\n
The conflicts in Ambon and Aceh can never be resolved. The
\nproblems of migrant workers in Nunukan remains a boil that may
\nrupture at any moment.<\/p>\n
Yet, I am proud to be Indonesian because this country has many
\nincredible people.<\/p>\n
