Reviving tourism on Bali<\/p>\n

The Island of the Gods appears to have lost its luster after
\nthe bomb blast in Legian, Kuta, Bali. Luckily, there are reports
\nthat Bali will host the 19th Summit Conference of ASEAN on Oct. 7
\nand Oct. 8, 2003.<\/p>\n
This should be warmly welcomed by all Indonesians. The bomb
\nblast that claimed more than 180 lives has greatly reduced
\ntourist arrivals in Bali, the gateway to a number of other
\ntourist destinations across the country.<\/p>\n
The government, in this case the coordinating minister for the
\neconomy and the state minister of tourism and culture, has
\ninvited national and international tourism investors and
\nobservers to hold a national coordination conference regarding
\nthe restoration of Bali's tourism image.<\/p>\n
The marketing of Bali's tourism is now being intensified
\nthrough, among other things, antiterrorist campaigns, the
\nappointment of professional companies to deal with public
\nrelations, counseling for journalists and travel writers from
\nAsia and the Pacific, the campaigns of \"Bali is back to normal\"
\nand \"Bali is still the Island of the Gods\" and the dissemination
\nof information to Indonesia's representatives abroad.<\/p>\n
All these measures show efforts to revive tourism nationwide,
\nwith Bali as the engine. The final objective is the restoration
\nof the image of Indonesia as a safe destination for tourists.<\/p>\n
