Revive our badminton success<\/p>\n

As a badminton buff, I feel concerned about some cases that
\nhave afflicted the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). There
\nhas been a growing trend for top badminton players to draw back
\nfrom defending their own country at international events.<\/p>\n
It seems that both executive boards and athletes are not in
\nthe same boat. Each of them feels that they are right, which only
\nbrings dissatisfaction to themselves.<\/p>\n
During the era of Indonesia's badminton world champions like
\nRudi Hartono and friends, I didn't hear of any conflict, such as
\nthose occurring during today's era of openness.<\/p>\n
In short, badminton players like Rudi Hartono and friends
\nended their glorious time honorably. Every one of them has
\nremained in the minds of our people and, perhaps, their names
\nwill be suitably recorded in the country's history. When I was a
\nstudent, I had to memorize the names of our badminton players
\nlike Rudi Hartono and friends, how many times they won and in
\nwhat events. Indonesia used to be associated with its success at
\nbadminton. Yet, at present, my children are not familiar with our
\nbadminton heroes but are with the names of cartoon film
\ncharacters like Doraemon, etc.<\/p>\n
I, therefore, call on the relevant authorities to revive
\nbadminton as a sport of national pride. Keep moving forward and
\nstart a new successful era of Indonesian badminton.<\/p>\n
