A series of mysterious shootings using airsoft guns has occurred in\nYogyakarta, with several motorcyclists becoming victims. Although not\nfatal, these mysterious shootings have unsettled residents, particularly\nthose who go out at night. The first incident took place in Sleman, specifically in the\nMaguwoharjo area, on Sunday (2\/8). A motorcyclist was cornered by a\nperpetrator who fired ball bearings. When asked for confirmation, the\nHead of Public Relations of Sleman Police, First Inspector Argo Anggoro,\nconfirmed the street crime that occurred on Jalan Laksda Adisucipto,\nMaguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman, in the early hours of around 02.00 WIB.\nAccording to him, the victim had filed a report with the East Depok\nPolice.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim has the initials AARP (17), male, a student, a resident\nof South Tangerang, who was travelling from Solo to Yogyakarta with a\nfriend at the time of the incident,\u201d said Argo when contacted.<\/p>\n
Argo explained that the chronology began when the victim, who was\nreturning to Yogyakarta from Solo, was suddenly cornered by two\nsuspected perpetrators riding pillion. One of the perpetrators then drew\nan airsoft gun.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen passing the location, the victim was allegedly cornered by two\npeople riding pillion on a black Honda PCX motorcycle. One of the\nsuspected perpetrators was said to be wearing a green online motorcycle\ntaxi jacket and carrying a sharp weapon resembling a sickle and an\nairsoft gun,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspected perpetrator then allegedly fired the airsoft gun,\nhitting the victim\u2019s back and causing injury. The victim subsequently\nreceived medical treatment and reported the incident to the East Depok\nPolice,\u201d Argo added.<\/p>\n
A few days later, the incident was repeated. This time the shooting\noccurred in Banguntapan, Bantul. The victim recounted the incident\nthrough social media.<\/p>\n

The arrested perpetrator, with the initials IRS (27), was\nthe executor or the shooter.<\/p>\n The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Sleman Police, Second\nPolice Inspector Kiswanto, said the perpetrator was arrested on Saturday\n(22\/8) in the Maguwoharjo area, Depok, Sleman.<\/p>\n \u201cThe perpetrator (with the initials) IRS, aged 27, male, a student,\nwith an address in Maguwoharjo, Depok, Sleman,\u201d Kiswanto explained\nduring a press conference at Sleman Police Headquarters on Thursday\n(27\/8).<\/p>\n According to the perpetrator\u2019s confession, Kiswanto said, the motive\nfor the act was due to family problems.<\/p>\n \u201cThe temporary motive we know so far is from the one who has been\ncaught.
