During the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow on H+3, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry's Batam branch has bolstered ferry services on the Tanjung Uban to Telaga Punggur route in response to heightened traffic. On H+2, the route handled 11,427 passengers and 3,105 vehicles, marking a significant increase from the previous year, yet operations remained smooth through optimised scheduling and additional vessels. This enhancement, including supportive facilities and digital ticketing, underscores ASDP's efforts to manage peak travel periods and support regional connectivity in Indonesia's archipelagic economy.

The Eid al-Fitr 2026 return flow on the Tanjung Uban, Bintan, to
Telaga Punggur, Batam, route entered H+3 on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. PT
ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Batam branch has strengthened crossing services
following a record of 11,427 passengers crossing in a single day on
H+2.

ASDP data shows that on H+2, or 23 March 2026, 3,539 people were foot
passengers, while 7,888 others were passengers in vehicles. The number
of vehicles crossing on the same day was recorded at 3,105 units.

General Manager of ASDP Batam Branch, Reno Yulianto, stated that the
increase in return flow had been anticipated since the beginning of the
Eid transportation period through operational optimisation. According to
him, although there was a rise in the number of passengers and vehicles
compared to the previous year, the crossing services continued to run
smoothly and under control.

“Although there has been a significant increase compared to 2025, the
conditions on the ground can still be managed well through operational
arrangements and intensive coordination,” he said on Tuesday (24/3).

To serve the surge in passengers, ASDP operated four ships with a
total of around 30 trips on H+2. Adjustments to the sailing schedule
were also made to ensure services could accommodate the increased number
of users.

Up to H+2, the cumulative total of passengers on that route reached
67,706 people, an increase of about 16 percent compared to the same
period last year. Meanwhile, the total number of vehicles that have
crossed was recorded at 20,179 units.

ASDP had previously mapped that the highest surge in return flow at
Tanjung Uban Port was predicted to occur on 24 March 2026 or H+3. To
anticipate this condition, service strengthening was carried out
gradually starting from H-9, H-3, H-1, up to H+5 and H+8.

On the Telaga Punggur-Tanjung Uban route, transport capacity was
optimised through the operation of four ships under normal conditions
and could increase to five ships during high density. In addition, ASDP
also prepared various supporting facilities such as buffer zones,
tollgates, vending machines, health clinics, customer services, waiting
rooms, and worship facilities.

ASDP urged the public to plan their trips earlier and purchase
tickets through Ferizy to reduce queues and maintain the smooth flow of
the 2026 Eid return.
",
