JAKARTA \u2014 The General Criminal Affairs Director of the Jakarta Metro\nPolice, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanudin, stated that the killer of\nretired Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) executive\nErmanto Usman committed the act purely for robbery purposes.<\/p>\n
The suspect, Sudirman (28), stole to sustain his daily living.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect\u2019s motive was purely economic,\u201d Iman said during a press\nconference on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.<\/p>\n
When Sudirman successfully entered Ermanto\u2019s home, his presence was\ndiscovered by the victim\u2019s wife, Pasmilawati (60), who switched on the\nlights and was preparing for sahur (pre-dawn meal during Ramadan).<\/p>\n
Startled, Sudirman immediately struck Pasmilawati\u2019s head with a\ncrowbar he was holding. He also used the crowbar to hit Ermanto, who had\njust woken up.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect was startled. So the suspect spontaneously swung the\ncrowbar, which he had previously used to prise open the window,\u201d Iman\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Sudirman had frequently committed thefts in the Bekasi area. He\nselected Ermanto\u2019s home because it appeared to be the most luxurious\nresidence in the vicinity.<\/p>\n
After incapacitating Ermanto and his wife, Sudirman seized two mobile\nphones, one laptop, several items of jewellery, and a bag containing car\nkeys.<\/p>\n
Sudirman was subsequently arrested at his residence in Cilincing,\nNorth Jakarta on Monday, 9 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Previously, it was reported that the robbery at Ermanto\u2019s and his\nwife\u2019s home resulted in fatality.<\/p>\n
When discovered, Ermanto was found on the bed covered in blood,\nwhilst Pasmilawati lay on the bedroom floor.<\/p>\n
Ermanto died at the scene, whilst his wife remained in critical\ncondition and continued to receive intensive hospital care.<\/p>\n
