However, social reality shows that\nviolence often occurs in the closest environments. Recognising this\nsignificant challenge, the Sumedang Regency Government is taking\nproactive steps by strengthening cross-sectoral synergy to ensure\ncomprehensive protection for these vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n<p>Sumedang Bupati Dony Ahmad Munir asserted that the issue of violence\nagainst women and children is not solely the responsibility of one\ninstitution, but a collective duty of all stakeholders. During a\ncross-sectoral coordination meeting he led, the Bupati invited all\nelements of government and society to sit together and seek sustainable\nsolutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Sumedang Regency Government considers that handling violence\ncannot be done partially. A shared commitment is needed to create a\nsafe, comfortable, and conducive environment for families. The Bupati\nstressed the importance of mutual reinforcement between agencies and the\ncommunity, rather than blaming each other when cases occur in the\nfield.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll parties must be present as part of the solution and strengthen\neach other in facing various social problems in the community. The concrete\nsteps taken include strengthening family resilience, character education\nfrom an early age, and instilling religious and moral values.\nAdditionally, counselling services and improving literacy regarding\nmental health and reproductive health are priorities to equip the\ncommunity with adequate knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Keeping pace with the times, the Sumedang Regency Government will\nalso utilise information technology to support these protection systems.\nThe Bupati instructed relevant regional apparatus to immediately\nformulate a Regional Action Plan (RAD) for the Prevention of Violence\nagainst Women and Children. This RAD must be prepared in an integrated\nmanner, encompassing clear targets, measurable success indicators, and\nregular monitoring and reporting mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond prevention, law enforcement remains a serious concern. The\nBupati emphasised the importance of a swift, professional, and fair\nlegal process for perpetrators, while ensuring maximum protection for\nwitnesses and victims through close coordination with law enforcement\nofficials.<\/p>",
