        "content": "<p>Residents question land acquisition fund<\/p>\n<p>MEDAN, North Sumatra: Hundreds of residents living along Jl.<br>\nNgumban Surbakti, Medan, returned to the North Sumatra<br>\nlegislative council on Friday to voice questions about the land<br>\nacquisition fund of Rp 76 billion for the 3.4-kilometer outer<br>\nring road project in Medan Selayang subdistrict.<\/p>\n<p>The rally, held for a second time, coincided with a plenary<br>\nsession of the council to discuss fund irregularities found in<br>\nthe 2003 budget.<\/p>\n<p>The session, which was attended by North Sumatra Governor<br>\nTengku Rizal Nurdin and some other local senior officials, was at<br>\none time suspended because the protesters tried to enter the<br>\nmeeting room.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters urged the governor and the Medan mayor to<br>\nprovide information on the funds used for the acquisition of<br>\ntheir land for the project. --JP<\/p>",
