Residents of Dusun Perigi in Buleleng, Bali, have endured a dilapidated 3 km dirt road for years, severely hampering their daily activities, especially during rainy seasons, and hindering the transport of agricultural produce. Vice Regent Gede Supriatna inspected the site and pledged that the Buleleng Regency Government will prioritise repairs through technical assessments to enhance connectivity and support the local farming economy. Village head Ketut Citarja expressed hope for swift action on the road and additional irrigation support for the area's substantial agricultural potential.

Residents of Dusun Perigi, Desa Bila, Kubutambahan Subdistrict,
Buleleng, have been struggling for years with a damaged road that
remains un repaired. The 3 kilometre (km) stretch is still unpaved dirt,
without asphalt or concrete gutters. This condition disrupts residents’
activities, particularly when it rains.

Vice Regent (Wabup) of Buleleng, Gede Supriatna, visited the site
directly on Monday (13/4/2026) to assess the road’s condition. The
inspection revealed that the road connecting Desa Bila to Kubutambahan
is far from adequate. The unhardened soil surface makes it difficult for
vehicles to pass, often becoming slippery and hazardous during the rainy
season.

“This is an important access route for the community, but its
condition is still dirt, without asphalt or concrete gutters. This
certainly hinders residents’ activities,” said Supriatna.

Local residents have long relied on this road to transport their
agricultural and plantation produce. However, the damaged road makes
distribution of harvests suboptimal and potentially detrimental to
farmers.

Supriatna assured that the Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) will
promptly conduct a technical study as the initial step in addressing the
issue. He emphasised that the road repair will be included in the
priority programme because it concerns village connectivity and
economy.

“In the future, we will programme it. This is important to support
the residents’ agricultural and plantation sectors,” Supriatna stated
firmly.

Meanwhile, the Head of Desa Bila, Ketut Citarja, hopes that the
promise can be realised soon. According to him, the distressing road
condition has long been a complaint among residents but has not yet been
addressed by development efforts.

“We greatly hope for assistance from the regent and vice regent to
help repair this road, as well as support for irrigation for the subak,
because our agricultural potential is quite substantial,” Citarja
expressed.
",
