The local community is calling for more sustainable solutions from the Subang Regency Government to address this recurring annual problem.

Due to the impact of the dry season, residents in the RT 03 RW 01
area of Cipeundeuy Village, Cipeundeuy District, Subang Regency, are
experiencing a clean water crisis and must rely on water distribution
assistance from external parties. This comes as the only borehole well
they have traditionally used has begun to dwindle.

For a long time, residents have relied solely on a single public
borehole to meet their needs for bathing, washing, and sanitation (MCK).
The water flow has decreased significantly, forcing residents to take
turns using the limited supply. Consequently, when two fire engines from
the 940 Jaya Negara Battalion arrived to distribute clean water,
residents rushed to secure their share out of fear of running out.

The arrival of the water distribution fleet was met with enthusiasm,
as residents prepared various containers, including buckets, paint
buckets, and dozens of empty gallons. Siti, a resident who participated
in the queue, expressed her gratitude for the free water assistance,
noting that purchasing water would be a significant financial burden. “I
am very happy with this assistance. We have only been able to rely on
the borehole in turns, and buying water is expensive,” Siti said on
Sunday (2/8).

The head of RT 03, Tahsin, revealed that this water crisis affects
dozens of families in his area and has become a recurring annual problem
every time the dry season arrives. “The residents here desperately long
for clean water assistance. This crisis is felt every year. So far,
residents can only utilise a shared borehole with very limited
capacity,” said Tahsin. Residents are hoping for active involvement from
relevant authorities to help resolve the clean water crisis in their
region during the dry season. Meanwhile, the Subang Regency Government
has yet to provide a permanent solution to overcome the water crisis in
the area.
",
