        "content": "<p>JAKARTA \u2013 Taman Bendera Pusaka in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, was\noriginally known as a calming green space. However, recently visitors\nhave complained about the condition of the artificial lake located in\nthe centre of the park. The lake\u2019s water appears pitch black and emits\nan unpleasant odour, making the experience of enjoying the park less\ncomfortable. Danar (27), one of the visitors who came with his sibling,\nsaid that he enjoys the park\u2019s facilities, especially the children\u2019s\nplay area. Similar complaints were voiced by Augita (35), a resident of\nWest Jakarta. The condition of the black and smelly artificial lake\nreduces comfort, although the park remains attractive to visit. \u201cYes,\nthe smell was quite disturbing when passing by,\u201d she said. Amid the\npungent smell, some visitors still approach to enjoy the lake\u2019s view.\nEight swans can be seen swimming in two parts of the lake. Some visitors\neven feed them biscuits, causing the swans to chase after them on the\nwater\u2019s surface. However, for some visitors, the appeal of these animals\nis not enough to offset the discomfort from the smell and water colour.\nActivities that should be enjoyable have instead become an uncomfortable\nexperience for them. In response to residents\u2019 complaints, the\nsupervisor of Taman Bendera Pusaka, Budi Purbadi, explained that the\nlake\u2019s construction is not yet fully complete.
