She shared\nthis following allegations of illegal levies (pungli) at the North\nBekasi KUA that surfaced on social media and drew public scrutiny. Vera\nrecounted that she was asked for additional fees beyond the regulations\nunder the pretext of speeding up the marriage document processing. She\nadmitted to questioning the extra fee but received no clear explanation.\n\u201cWhen I asked, there was no definite explanation,\u201d she said. Another\nresident, Fadhil (30), claimed to have experienced something similar to\nVera when registering his marriage in October 2025. Fadhil explained\nthat he initially faced issues with incomplete documents and was asked\nto correct them.
