Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives held\nanother meeting with residents of the Vasana-Neo Vasana housing estate\nand the housing developer PT Hasana Damai Putera in Bekasi regarding the\ncontroversy over the musala in the estate. During the meeting, it was\nexplained that an agreement has been reached between the residents and\nthe developer concerning the status of the musala, which had previously\ncaused contention.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place in the Commission III DPR meeting room,\nNusantara II, Jakarta, on Monday (30\/3\/2026). The meeting was chaired\ndirectly by the Chairman of Commission III DPR, Habiburokhman,\naccompanied by the Deputy Chairman of Commission III DPR, Rano\nAlfath.<\/p>\n
Habiburokhman initially invited representatives from the Vasana-Neo\nVasana residents to present the latest developments on the musala\ncontroversy in the estate. Ibnu, a resident representative, stated that\nthe residents and the developer have now reached an agreement regarding\nthe status of the musala built by the developer.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe, the residents of Cluster Vasana, wish to provide an update on\nthe issue of the place of worship in our cluster. At the end of Ramadan,\nwe reached an agreement with the developer. In brief, the musala place\nof worship within the cluster, which was built by the developer, based\non residents\u2019 deliberations, we have finally accepted it with a changed\nstatus,\u201d said Ibnu during the meeting.<\/p>\n
The status in question is that the musala is now a public facility\n(fasos). He mentioned that with this change in status, the musala has\nbecome a permanent building.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially, the land status was green open space (RTH), and the\nlatest from the developer is that it has been changed to fasos. Thus,\nwith the change from RTH land, which was actually the source of the\ndispute from the beginning, because it has been changed to fasos, the\nresidents can finally accept it. Furthermore, the status of the musala\nbuilt by the developer is now permanent in function and structure, so\nthere is no longer any temporary nature that they twisted. We appreciate\nthe developer; with the mediation by the female police chief yesterday,\nwe were able to move forward to resolve this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor other matters, at the end of Ramadan, we were able to use it for\nworship because it has been handed over. The children in our cluster are\nvery happy; they are now studying the Quran there,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Then, the developer, represented by Luqman, conveyed the same\ninformation. He assured that the musala issue is now resolved following\nthe agreement with the residents.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful that through the deliberations conducted between us,\nPT HDP, and the residents of Vasana and Neo Vasana, an agreement has\nbeen reached regarding Musala Ar-Rahman. This agreement proves that open\ncommunication and mutual respect can produce good solutions for all\nparties, both for us as developers and the residents of Vasana Neo\nVasana,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
He assured that the developer will implement all points of the\nagreement with the residents regarding the musala.<\/p>\n
\u201cPT HDP is fully committed to implementing all points of the joint\nagreement that has been approved and agreed upon, with full\nresponsibility, and will continue to maintain harmonious relations with\nthe residents and all stakeholders,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Next, the Chief of Bekasi Regency Police, Commissioner Sumarni, also\nconfirmed the resolution of the musala controversy in the Vasana-Neo\nVasana housing estate. She admitted to feeling embarrassed that the case\nhad dragged on.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are actually embarrassed too because the case has been ongoing\nsince 2022 and only resolved in 2026. It is certainly blessed by the\ngentleness of the people in Vasana Neo Vasana. We hope this agreement\ncan serve as a collective introspection; in the future, there should be\nno more issues that cause disturbances,\u201d said Commissioner Sumarni.<\/p>\n
Finally, Deputy Chairman of Commission III DPR, Rano Alfath, read out\nthe conclusions of Commission III DPR regarding the end of the musala\ncontroversy in Bekasi. He stated that Commission III DPR accepts the\nagreement between the developer and the residents.<\/p>\n
