Resident complains about compensation<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Agus Yanuar Ayub, a resident of Slipi
\nsubdistrict in West Jakarta, filed a complaint with the City
\nCouncil over unpaid compensation for his land.<\/p>\n
Agus told the City Council's Commission A, which is in charge
\nof government affairs, security and public order, that a
\ndeveloper, PT Centralindo Panca Sakti, appropriated his land
\nwithout paying compensation to him as the owner.<\/p>\n
\"I have never received any compensation from the company even
\nthough I own the land and I have legal papers to prove it,\" Agus
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He said that in 1983 he permitted local people to use the 332
\nsquare-meter land he owned on Jl. GII RT 008\/02 in Slipi
\nsubdistrict to build a road leading to a school building adjacent
\nto the land.<\/p>\n
\"I bought the land in 1973 and have never sold it,\" he said,
\nreiterating that he has all the legal papers to prove that the
\nland belongs to him.<\/p>\n
Agus said that the problem began in 1991 when the developer
\nappropriated the school together with the road. The developer
\nonce promised to pay him compensation for the road, but up to now
\nAgus has never received it.<\/p>\n
\"I learned from the West Jakarta office of the National Land
\nAgency that the developer paid compensation to the city
\nadministration through an official of the city administration,\"
\nAgus said.<\/p>\n
\"I don't understand why the developer paid the compensation to
\nhim,\" he said.<\/p>\n
A member of the commission, Romulus Sihombing, said he will
\nsummons the developer and the officer of the municipality to
\nresolve the matter. (yns)<\/p>",
