        "content": "<p>Research centers to earn royalties<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: State research centers will benefit from royalties on<br>\ntheir scientific products, so that they can have more funds for<br>\nfurther innovations, a government regulation states.<\/p>\n<p>State Minister of Research and Technology Kusmayanto Kadiman<br>\nsaid on Friday that Government Regulation 20\/2005 on the transfer<br>\nof intellectual rights in technology and the results of research<br>\nand development would provide incentives for researchers and<br>\nstimulate more inventions.<\/p>\n<p>The President signed the regulation on May 19.<\/p>\n<p>Before the introduction of the regulation, revenue from<br>\nscientific products went to the state coffers and it was the<br>\ngovernment, which distributed the research funds.<\/p>\n<p>\"There was a rush in revenues, but only a little went to the<br>\nresearch centers,\" Kusmayanto said.
