An Israel-based organisation has praised Saudi Arabia after the\nkingdom removed the phrase \u201cMuslims will never surrender Jerusalem\u201d from\nschool textbooks.<\/p>\n
The move is seen as part of efforts to change how Saudi Arabia\nteaches Islam, Palestine, and Israel in its curriculum.<\/p>\n
The Israeli research group Impact-se published its study of the Saudi\ncurriculum at the end of July 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe statement implied that Muslim control or presence in Jerusalem\nis under threat,\u201d the report said, as quoted by The Middle Eye on\nTuesday (18\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to Impact-se, the reference \u201ccould be interpreted as\nportraying Jerusalem as a site of ongoing conflict between Muslims and\nother groups, particularly Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n
The criticism comes as Israeli politicians routinely call for the\ndestruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam,\nand the construction of a Jewish temple at the site.<\/p>\n
On Monday (17\/8\/2026), Israeli authorities officially permitted\nIsraeli settlers to conduct Jewish worship or prayer inside the Al-Aqsa\nMosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
The move was seen as a provocative act that further violates and\nerodes the status quo that has prevailed at the holy site for\ndecades.<\/p>\n
