The candidate will take the oath before President Prabowo\nSubianto. Prasetyo said the Presidential Palace has received the name of\nthe Constitutional Court candidate from the Supreme Court. \u201cIt is\nplanned as soon as possible this week,\u201d Prasetyo said in response to the\ninauguration of the Constitutional Court judge replacing Anwar Usman, at\nthe Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta, on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.\nHowever, Prasetyo declined to reveal the identity of the Constitutional\nCourt judge who will replace the brother-in-law of the seventh president\nJoko Widodo. \u201cIt will be announced later,\u201d Prasetyo said. Prasetyo added\nthat the inauguration of the elected Ombudsman leadership for the\n2026-2031 period is also planned to be held simultaneously with the\noath-taking of the Constitutional Court judge this week. Anwar Usman\u2019s\nterm as Constitutional Court judge ended on Monday, 6 April 2026, after\n15 years in office. Anwar was inaugurated as a Constitutional Court\njudge by the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang\nYudhoyono at the State Palace, Jakarta, on 6 April 2011. He then\ncontinued his position as a Constitutional Court judge for a second term\nin 2016 and served as Deputy Chief Justice. On 2 April 2018, Anwar was\nelected as Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, replacing Arief\nHidayat, for a term until 2020. The uncle of Vice President Gibran\nRakabuming Raka was then elected to the top leadership position of the\nConstitutional Court for a second term, namely the 2023-2028 term,\nbefore being dismissed for proven ethical violations. At that time,\nAnwar was deemed involved in a conflict of interest in deciding Case\nNumber 90\/PUU-XXI\/2023 regarding the age requirements for presidential\nand vice-presidential candidates, known as Decision 90.
