Repeat voters reported to police<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Four voters who were caught red-handed trying to vote
\nmore than once in the April 5 legislative election were reported
\nto the Jakarta Police on Thursday by the Election Supervisory
\nCommittee (Panwaslu).<\/p>\n
"Three voters were arrested at polling stations in West
\nJakarta and another was apprehended at a polling station in North
\nJakarta," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Prasetyo said on
\nThursday.<\/p>\n
Police had been questioning the four suspects, he said, but
\ndid not reveal the political parties for which the four had tried
\nto cast additional ballots.<\/p>\n
Prasetyo said police also received reports from the public
\nabout five voters who each possessed more than one voter card.
\nThey were arrested at polling stations in Kemayoran, Central
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
"But the Panwaslu has yet to report the case to us," he said.<\/p>\n
The Panwaslu, the police and the Attorney General's Office had
\nearlier signed a memorandum of understanding that any violations
\nof the Election Law must be filed by the Panwaslu. If the
\nviolations are considered to be more than administrative
\nviolations, they must be forwarded to the police. -- JP<\/p>",
