The repatriation of the remains of Corporal Farizal Rhomadhon, a\nsoldier from Brigade Infantry 25\/Siwah who fell while carrying out a\nUnited Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, continues to\nprogress.<\/p>\n
Brigade Infantry 25\/Siwah-Aceh Commander, Colonel Infantry Dimar\nBahtera, Farizal\u2019s superior, explained that the government is currently\nnavigating a series of complex international procedures.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe remains of the late Corporal are no longer at the scene but have\nbeen evacuated to the headquarters or main base for body preparation by\ncolleagues in the same area,\u201d Dimar said during a visit to the mourning\nhouse in Lendah, Kulon Progo, on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n
After the interment process at the main base is completed, the next\nstep is to evacuate the remains to a hospital in Beirut for a standard\nautopsy using more complete equipment. The autopsy is scheduled for\ntomorrow, Wednesday, 1 April local time. \u201cWhile still adjusting to\nsecurity conditions if they are conducive.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dimar added that the exact arrival time of the remains in the\nhomeland cannot yet be determined due to the ongoing conflict dynamics\nin the region. All stages depend heavily on the situation on the\nground.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the exact time (of the remains\u2019 arrival in the homeland) we\ncannot yet determine because the situation there is very dynamic,\u201d he\nsaid. After the autopsy, the repatriation mechanism will be fully\nhandled by the UN and UNIFIL parties, involving various stages of\ninternational official document processing.<\/p>\n
The next process in the repatriation of the remains relates to flight\naccess to the homeland. This is because civilian flights in Lebanon are\nstill closed.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the option for the flight route carrying Farizal\u2019s\nremains, Dimar said, is likely to be rerouted through a neighbouring\ncountry such as Egypt or Jordan, with coordination from the Ministry of\nForeign Affairs and the Indonesian Defence Attach\u00e9.<\/p>\n
After the air journey, upon arrival in Jakarta, the remains will\nfirst undergo a state honour ceremony at both TNI Headquarters and the\nMinistry of Defence.<\/p>\n
