        "content": "<p>Renovation of Taman Ria to be handled by owner<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The City Administration returned the management<br>\nof the Taman Ria Remaja recreation center in Senayan, Central<br>\nJakarta, yesterday to its owner -- Ria Pembangunan -- after being<br>\nmanaged by PT Pembangunan Jaya for 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Ciputra, the president of PT Pembangunan Jaya, a joint venture<br>\nbetween the City Administration and private companies, returned<br>\nthe management to Governor Surjadi Soedirdja, who later handed it<br>\nover to Mrs. Edi Sudrajat, the chair of Ria Pembangunan.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday's ceremony was witnessed by Mrs. Ali Moertopo, the<br>\nchair of the Taman Ria Remaja development project, and a number<br>\nof other municipal officials.<\/p>\n<p>The governor told reporters after the ceremony that Ria<br>\nPembangunan entrusted the management of the 11-hectare recreation<br>\ncenter to the City Administration in 1970. \"In its implementation<br>\nPT Pembangunan Jaya was chosen to be in charge of its daily<br>\nhandling and the governor acted only as its supervisor,\" Surjadi<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>After 25 years, Ria Pembangunan is interested in renovating<br>\ntheir recreation center again, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Private developer PT Ariobimo Perkasa signed an agreement<br>\nrecently with Ria Pembangunan for the renovation of Taman Ria<br>\nRemaja into a modern recreation center.<\/p>\n<p>Under the agreement, PT Ariobimo is allowed to manage the<br>\nrecreation center for another 20 years.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation plan of the facility, which is strategically<br>\nlocated near the People's Consultative Assembly building and the<br>\nstate-owned TVRI station, is expected to give Jakartans another<br>\nrecreation facility.<\/p>\n<p>During the renovation, the environmental conditions in Taman<br>\nRia will be maintained in line with existing regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation will not change the condition of the parks and<br>\nthe existing man-made lake, an executive of Ria Pembangunan said.<\/p>\n<p>Syarif C. Sutardjo of PT Ariobimo said that the renovation<br>\nproject is scheduled to start next July and to be completed in 18<br>\nmonths.<\/p>\n<p>The project will be equipped with various playgrounds,<br>\nrestaurants and fishing centers.
