Special allowances for teachers in remote areas have allegedly been\nembezzled. The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate\n(Ditreskrimsus) of the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police has designated\nthe Head of Teacher Affairs (Kabid PTK) at the Bima District Education,\nCulture and Sports Office, identified as IR, as a suspect for alleged\nillegal levies (pungli) and extortion.<\/p>\n
Ditreskrimsus Commander Kombes FX Endriadi stated that IR is\nsuspected of extorting recipients of the Special Remote Area Teacher\nAllowance (TKGDT) in Tambora District, Bima Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have named Ms IR as a suspect in alleged corruption, extortion\nand illegal levy offences against elementary school teachers receiving\nthe special remote area allowance in Tambora District, Bima Regency,\u201d\nsaid Endriadi on Friday (27 February 2026).<\/p>\n
Endriadi explained that the extortion practice occurred from 2019 to\n2025. Eighteen elementary school teachers recorded as allowance\nrecipients fell victim.<\/p>\n
In each disbursement, IR allegedly demanded between Rp 500,000 to Rp\n1 million. Deductions were made when allowances were distributed, either\nmonthly or quarterly.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom preliminary examination results, (TKGDT deductions) occurred\nmonthly and quarterly,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The suspect designation was made after investigators from the\nAnti-Corruption Subdivision of Ditreskrimsus obtained at least two\npieces of valid evidence and formally launched the case.<\/p>\n
Investigators have examined 24 witnesses and secured various\ndocuments. \u201cFrom our investigation, we found evidence of money transfers\nfrom teachers receiving allowances being handed over to IR as Head of\nTeacher Affairs at the Bima District Education Office,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n
According to Endriadi, the teachers handed over money because they\nfelt pressured. They feared that subsequent allowance tranches would not\nbe disbursed if IR\u2019s demands were not met.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe teachers felt compelled to hand over funds, owing to concerns\nthat they would not receive the special allowance in subsequent phases,\u201d\nhe stated.<\/p>\n
Sub-division Head of Anti-Corruption at Ditreskrimsus AKBP Muhaemin\ndisclosed additional findings from the investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cMs IR prepared two special bank accounts to receive deposits from\nteachers receiving the remote area allowance,\u201d said Muhaemin.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing. Investigators continue to trace the\nflow of funds received by IR and are exploring the possibility of other\nparties being involved.<\/p>\n
