The effort by former Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency\n(BGN), Sony Sonjaya, to obtain justice collaborator (JC) status has not\ncompletely ended. After being rejected by the Attorney General\u2019s Office\n(Kejagung), Sony has now submitted a similar application to the Witness\nand Victim Protection Agency (LPSK).<\/p>\n
LPSK Chairman Achmadi confirmed that his agency has received the\napplication and is currently conducting an in-depth review before\nreaching a decision. \u201cYes, there is an application submitted to LPSK. It\nis still under review,\u201d he told reporters on Wednesday, 24 June\n2026.<\/p>\n
Achmadi, however, was not yet willing to speculate on whether the\napplication would be granted. He stated that the entire process would be\ncarried out in accordance with applicable regulations and would involve\ncoordination with several related parties. \u201cRegarding the requirements,\nthey are stipulated in the law. In principle, for any application\nsubmitted to LPSK, we will examine it thoroughly and then coordinate\nfurther with the relevant parties,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also emphasised that the concept of a justice collaborator applied\nfor through LPSK essentially refers to the same regulations. \u201cIn\nprinciple, a JC is a JC. The regulations are the same,\u201d Achmadi stated.\nWhen asked about the Attorney General\u2019s Office\u2019s prior rejection of\nSony\u2019s JC application, Achmadi noted that this would serve as one of the\nmaterials for coordination before LPSK makes its decision. \u201cWe will\ncoordinate further,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Attorney General\u2019s Office had dashed Sony Sonjaya\u2019s\nhopes of receiving special treatment as a justice collaborator in the\nalleged corruption case concerning the management of the Free Nutritious\nMeals (MBG) programme for the 2025-2026 period. Investigators assessed\nthat Sony did not qualify for the status.
