Members of the public who wish to register themselves or nominate a\ncandidate for the DPD RI Awards 2026 can submit their proposal directly\non the official DPD RI website at https:\/\/awards.dpd.go.id.<\/p>\n
There are four award categories in the DPD RI Awards 2026: Non-Formal\nEducation Innovator, Health Technology Innovator, Food Self-Sufficient\nVillage Champion, and Regional Culture Preservationist.<\/p>\n
The first category is in the field of education. This award will be\ngiven to individuals who have shown dedication and contributed to\nnon-formal education. \u201cThe award is given to Non-Formal Education\nInnovators who are dedicated to developing non-formal education and\nexpanding learning opportunities for the public,\u201d DPD RI stated on its\nofficial website.<\/p>\n
The DPD RI Awards 2026 will also recognise figures who have made\ncontributions in the health sector. The award will be given to those who\nhave become health technology innovators. \u201cAwarded to individuals,\nprofessionals or academics who have produced innovations in the health\nsector through clinical or laboratory research, including the discovery\nof medicines, therapies, or medical devices that benefit the public,\u201d\nDPD explained.<\/p>\n
Next is the field of food security. The award will be given to\nfigures who have been champions in building food self-sufficient\nvillages. \u201cAimed at Food Self-Sufficient Village Champions who promote\nfood self-sufficiency through the utilisation of local food potential,\ncommunity empowerment, and the strengthening of sustainable food\nsecurity,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n
The final category is in the field of arts and culture. This award\nwill be given to individuals who preserve and promote regional culture.\n\u201cAwarded to individuals who have shown innovation in the development and\npreservation of regional culture and who play an active role in\npromoting regional culture at both national and international levels,\u201d\nDPD explained.<\/p>\n
DPD RI will also present Special Recognition Awards for figures,\nindividuals, or groups who have made consistent and sustained\ncontributions to their regions.<\/p>\n
DPD RI Speaker Sultan B Najamudin has assured that the DPD RI Awards\nprocess is free from intervention. He noted that many regional figures\nhave yet to receive attention. \u201cWe are doing this because so many\naspirations have come in, so much potential from local heroes and local\nchampions in the regions that has not yet been on the radar,\u201d Sultan\nsaid at the DPD RI Awards 2025 event.<\/p>\n
Sultan said the event is held to identify heroes in the regions who\nhave so far not been in the spotlight. He said the event also represents\nthe aspirations of regional communities. \u201cWe are 152 DPD members, which\nif converted represents nearly 80 million people in the regions who have\nentrusted their mandate to us. That is why through the DPD Awards we\nwant to identify and discover so much untapped potential, local heroes,\nlocal champions. Regional people who have contributed significantly to\nthe progress of their regions in their respective fields but have not\nyet been noticed,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
Sultan assured that the DPD RI leadership cannot intervene in the\nselection of award winners. He said the expert council involved is\ncapable and independent. \u201cWe will see the categories later, because we\nare not allowed to intervene either. There are fields of tourism,\nculture, women and children, education, social affairs, and many more.\nWe involve judges who are capable, independent and transparent.
