        "content": "<p>Regents to issue forestry licenses<\/p>\n<p>BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: State Minister of Forestry<br>\nMarzuki Usman said that a presidential decree would soon be<br>\nreleased enabling regents throughout the country to issue forest<br>\nconcession licenses (HPH) and similar permits.<\/p>\n<p>\"Hopefully, a presidential decree granting consent for regents<br>\nto issue licenses will soon materialize,\" Marzuki said after<br>\nmaking a speech at a campaign to prevent forest fires and illegal<br>\nlogging.<\/p>\n<p>The licenses are usually issued by the Ministry of Forestry.<\/p>\n<p>\"People don't have to go to Jakarta anymore to obtain a<br>\nlicense if they can do it in their regencies,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Marzuki, the decree was to be issued in<br>\naccordance with the implementation of regional autonomy and it is<br>\nexpected that regents will be supported by local forestry<br>\nconsultants and public auditors in studying proposals for forest<br>\nconcessions.<\/p>\n<p>Marzuki further disclosed that governors would also be given<br>\nauthority and responsibility to manage and supervise national<br>\nparks and protect forests, Antara reported.<\/p>",
