Djamhari's decision<br>\nrequiring that developers pay Rp 147,500 for every square meter<br>\nof housing project land to the town planning agency continues to<br>\ndraw the wrath of construction companies.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the mayor made the ruling on payments to the<br>\nagency, which is authorized to require developers to provide<br>\npublic facilities in the housing complexes they build.<\/p>\n<p>The executives of the West Java chapter of the Indonesian Real<br>\nEstate Association continue to charge that the ruling is unfair.<\/p>\n<p>\"The decision has put the developers at a disadvantage because<br>\nthey have to pay out a lot more money than expected for their<br>\nhousing complexes,\" association chairman Paskah Suzeta told The<br>\nJakarta Post in Bekasi, a township located 25 kilometers east of<br>\nthe capital, earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Paskah made the remarks after trying in vain to meet with the<br>\nregent to air his association's grievances.
