Regent proceeds with PhD research<\/p>\n
BOGOR, West Java: M. Syaukani, the regent of Kutai Kertanegara in
\nEast Kalimantan, successfully defended on Saturday his doctoral
\nresearch proposal at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB),
\nthus allowing him to move on to the next stage of his doctoral
\nresearch.<\/p>\n
The Regent, who is also the chairman of the Regental
\nGovernments Association, proposed a study of capacity building in
\nthe formulation of conservation policy in the Soeharto Hill's
\nNational Park in East Kalimantan province.<\/p>\n
Prof. Hadi S. Alikodra, one of the lecturers who scrutinized
\nthe research proposal, promised that the institute would strictly
\nadhere to quality standards in the regent's case. Many say that
\nthis is not the case with many other institutes in the country
\nwhen dealing with important personages.<\/p>\n
If the IPB neglected quality standards, it would damage the
\ninstitute's reputation, said Alikodra. -- Antara<\/p>",
