        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that it has\nsecured at least 13 people in a sting operation conducted in the\nBengkulu region. Of the many people arrested, nine of them were flown to\nJakarta to undergo intensive examination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf the 13 people, the team will bring 9 people for further\ninvestigation in Jakarta,\u201d said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the\nRed and White Building of the KPK in South Jakarta, Tuesday (10\nMarch).<\/p>\n<p>Suspected Project Bribery<\/p>\n<p>Based on information gathered, one of the parties brought to Jakarta\nwas Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari. This covert operation\nis strongly suspected to be related to bribery practices in project work\nin that region. \u201cSuspected to be related to project bribery,\u201d said\nBudi.<\/p>\n<p>In the operation, the KPK enforcement team also secured a sum of cash\nin rupiah as evidence. However, the anti-corruption body has not yet\nbeen able to detail the total value of the money seized as it is still\nbeing counted and clarified.<\/p>\n<p>Determination of Legal Status<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1\nx 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested in the sting\noperation.<\/p>\n<p>Certainty regarding the construction of the case, the articles\ncharged, and the designation of suspects will be officially announced by\nthe KPK leadership through a press conference in the near future.<\/p>",
