Regency's website attacked by hackers<\/p>\n

Tanjungjabung Barat regency administration is hunting down
\nhackers responsible for vandalizing its official website two days
\nago, an official said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
In a bold move, hackers placed a pornographic photograph on
\nthe website, www.pemkab-tanjungjabungbarat.go.id., along with a
\n\"signature\" -- \"hacked by Dian Maulani\", and the message
\n\"security is a lifestyle\", an apparent criticism of the web
\nsite's lack of security.<\/p>\n
\"The administration will take legal action in this case,\"
\nspokesman, Mardi Barus, told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday, adding
\nthat the act was a crime and would be prosecuted under law.<\/p>\n
He said the website had already been repaired by computer
\ntechnicians and was operating normally as of Tuesday. \"The
\nadministration depends on the website to lure investors,
\nespecially foreign investors,\" he said.<\/p>\n
The website, he added, made available much useful information
\nfor investors, such as listing investment opportunities in the
\nregency as well as information on surveys of the regency's market
\npotential and development opportunities.<\/p>\n
The vandalization of the site was the latest following on the
\nhigh-profile hacking of the General Elections Commission (KPU)'s
\nstate-of-the-art website last year. Police in that case arrested
\na computer technician employee of the commission.<\/p>\n
Hacking violates Article 22 of Law No. 39\/1999 on
\ntelecommunications. The article prohibits unauthorized
\nmanipulation of telecommunications services or networks.<\/p>\n
If found guilty, hackers face a maximum sentence of six years
\nin prison and\/or a Rp 600 million (US$60,000) fine.<\/p>",
