Regency offices may be seized<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: Offices of the Tangerang administration and council
\nin Tiga Raksa subdistrict were almost confiscated by the
\nIndonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) on Wednesday, because
\nthe land certificate was pawned by developer PT Panca Wira Sakti.<\/p>\n
The developer, which built the offices with an agreement from
\nthe administration in 1996, is currently in possession of the
\nland certificate for the 80-hectare plot.<\/p>\n
\"We have urged the regent to handle the issue with haste to
\navoid IBRA confiscating this land,\" said council spokesman Dadang
\nKartasasmita.<\/p>\n
The old administration building on Jl. Daan Mogot was too
\nnarrow, so then-regent Tadjus Sobirin made an agreement with the
\ndeveloper to build the new building in Tiga Raksa without
\npermission from the council.<\/p>\n
Dadang said that the agreement was illegal without the
\ncouncil's approval.<\/p>\n
He also called on the central government to understand the

On Friday, water supplies in Bulungan, Jl. Pati Unus, Jl. Hang

\nDuri, and surrounding South Jakarta will be disrupted by the

Careless motorist razes family home<\/p>\n
BOGOR: The carelessness of a motorist almost killed a family when
\nthe suspect, who is still at large, threw a cigarette butt into a
\ngas kiosk owned by Didin, 40, and wife Titih, 36, in Parung
\nBanteng village, Bogor.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness Romly, a relative, said that the cigarette butt
\nstarted a fire at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday that burned down both
\nthe kiosk and the house behind it.<\/p>\n
Both victims suffered serious burns and were taken to the
\nIndonesian Red Cross Hospital in Bogor, from where they will be
\ntransferred to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Central
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
Neighbors managed to save the couple's 3-year-old daughter
\nNurul Azizah, 3.<\/p>\n
It took four fire trucks, which arrived at the scene 30
\nminutes later, to extinguish the fire.<\/p>\n
East Bogor police station chief Adj. Comr. Taryadi said they
\nwere investigating the case and searching for the motorist who
