The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, has explained several\npoints that are the government\u2019s focus regarding the revision of the\nNational Police Law (RUU Polri). He emphasised that the primary\nobjective of the revision is to strengthen the role of the National\nPolice (Polri) as a protector and guardian of the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are several points (of government attention). Primarily, how\nthe Polri institution must become a people\u2019s police, a police force that\nprotects the people,\u201d Pras told journalists at the DPR\/MPR RI Building,\nJakarta, on Saturday (6\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
He explained that the substance of the regulatory change is to ensure\nthat Polri is loved by the public through excellent service functions.\n\u201cThe substance lies there, in how to strengthen the Polri institution to\ncarry out its duties and functions as a guardian of the community, as a\nprotector of the people, as the people\u2019s police, a police force loved by\nthe people,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, garments. If we are unable to prevent smuggling, it\nwill disrupt our domestic garment industry,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, an important point of concern is law enforcement\nregarding narcotics. According to him, drug trafficking practices have\nbecome increasingly sophisticated, necessitating the strengthening of\nthe police institution to confront them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen there is narcotics. If we are unable to eradicate drugs\u2014whether\nthey are smuggled in or produced, as the methods are becoming\nincreasingly sophisticated and modern\u2014it will destroy our future younger\ngeneration,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n
