Reform for the people<\/p>\n
From Merdeka<\/p>\n
I would like to give my opinion on Indonesia's economic and
\npolitical development during these times of uncertainty, and on
\nthe people taking advantage of the reform movement.<\/p>\n
We the little people sympathize with the change of the
\ncountry's leadership, provided it will settle quickly the
\neconomic problems which are a heavy burden on the people. The
\nprice of staple foodstuffs should return to normal soon.<\/p>\n
Students and community members should guard against people
\nacting in the name of the people and justice but with personal
\nambitions. On the political stage, they should not just say: hold
\na special session of the People's Consultative Assembly,
\neradicate corruption, collusion and nepotism and organize quickly
\na general election (so they can be elected). Instead, they should
\nbe shouting the people's expectation: Lower the prices!.<\/p>\n
We the little people need food, work and tranquility. Their
\nambition and differences should be channeled to the House of
\nRepresentatives and the People's Consultative Assembly. They
\nshould not just speak loudly in front of the masses and exert a
\nbad influence on them.<\/p>\n
It is not necessary for them to say bad things to the media
\nabroad because whatever Indonesia is, it is our country, that we
\nmust support together. Otherwise, our people will always be
\nsqueezed and our economy will continue to slide, so that the
\nlittle people will, once again, be the victim because of a few
\ndissatisfied individuals.<\/p>\n
Perhaps, the political experts who are never satisfied do not
\nfeel the difficulty in earning a bowl of rice like us because
\nthey can get funds from abroad. We the little people can only
\nwork and earn money if the country is safe and peaceful.<\/p>\n
