Reenactment of Munir mystery<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The government-sanctioned fact-finding team and the
\npolice are set to stage a reenactment of what happened on board the
\nGaruda Indonesia flight from Jakarta to Singapore that carried
\nwell-known rights activist Munir to his death.<\/p>\n
"We hope to conduct the reconstruction in the third week of
\nFebruary but it also depends on when Garuda Indonesia will be
\nable to provide us with the aircraft and the crew members
\ninvolved in the case," said Usman Hamid, a member of the fact-
\nfinding team, on Friday.<\/p>\n
Munir, the founder of both Imparsial and the Commission for
\nMissing Persons and Victims of Violence (Kontras), died of
\napparent arsenic poisoning aboard a Garuda flight on Sept. 7,
\n2004, on his way to Amsterdam.<\/p>\n
Usman also said that his team would study the video tapes from
\nthe surveillance cameras in the boarding area of Soekarno Hatta
\nInternational Airport from the time when Munir boarded his
\nflight.<\/p>\n
"By viewing the tapes, we hope to find out who Munir met in
\nthe boarding area," Usman said.<\/p>\n
He added that so far the fact-finding team had questioned six
\npeople, and intended to question three of these further. -- JP<\/p>",
